Welcome to the latest edition of the Q-News. It has been a very busy time for everyone at Quantum Scientific since the last update. We have some new staff members on board to compliment our expanding product range and many of our existing suppliers continue to develop and expand their product ranges, allowing us to better assist our clients with their laboratory work. There are a number of exciting promotions this month, including our Sanyo VIP Freezers to be supplied with quality inventory systems. If you have difficulty working with adhesive tapes or labels whilst wearing gloves, then consider the new UltraSense^TM glove from Microflex. The unique finishing process of the UltraSense^TM glove minimises adhesiveness to the gloves.

The UltraSense^TM range also provides real barrier protection against many hazardous chemicals like Ethidium Bromide. When Microflex nitrile gloves were exposed to a 5% concentration of Ethidium Bromide, there was no breakthrough detected for up to 120 minutes.

Sanyo Biomedical Freezers

The SANYO Biomedical Freezer product line includes chest and upright models designed for short or intermediate term storage at temperatures as low as -30°C.

These fully featured instruments come in a range of sizes and ensure your samples, reagents and precious extractions are kept safe from potentially damaging freeze/thaw cycles that can occur in domestic style, cyclic defrost units. In a -20ºC domestic freezer, the temperature can fluctuate between 10-15ºC during a defrost cycle.

Service Update - System Qualification

Quantum Scientific is continuing to grow with its surroundings. As more regulation comes into the market, Quantum Scientific has answered the call of our clients. We have now launched a new product that will assist in the validation of your scientific equipment - the new Qualification Workbook for Sanyo Equipment, this includes Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), Performance Qualification (PQ) and Maintenance Qualification (MQ).

Steve joined the customer service team at Quantum mid October 2006 with the expansion into the new premises at Murarrie, Brisbane, his current position is a Customer Service Officer.
